Benefits

Round drills are widely described as easier to place because they naturally “fall” into the center of each circle on the canvas. This makes them ideal for beginners or anyone who wants a smoother, more meditative experience.
Because round drills don’t require perfect alignment, you can work faster without worrying about tight edges or gaps. Many crafters choose round drills when they want a project that feels fun and breezy rather than meticulous.
Round drills tend to create a softer, more blended look. The slight gaps between drills allow more light to reflect, giving the artwork a gentle shimmer rather than the crisp, tiled effect of square drills.
Round drills don’t demand the same level of precision as square drills. You don’t have to worry about “popping” or misalignment, which makes the process feel more forgiving and enjoyable—especially for large or highly colorful designs.

Square drills lock together with no gaps, creating a crisp mosaic-like finish. this makes them ideal for images that need precision, clean edges, or fine detail. Because square drills sit flush against each other, they create a smooth, seamless surface that looks more refined and professional. many experienced crafters prefer this effect. square drills have a subtle "click" or "snap" when they slide into place, which many crafters find addictive and rewarding. because they fill the entire grid, square drills leave no visible background, given the finished piece a bold, full coverage look.
